Masterpiece
In this puzzle, at eight locations the across and down entries disagree about what letter should go in the cell. When this occurs, instead of either, put in the number which is the alphabetical distance between the two options. This numbered square is a “dot.” The numbers 1-8 will be used once each.
Step 1: To begin your masterpiece, shade squares to connect these dots. (Press 9 to shade a square; 0 to unshade it.) The connecting lines will always be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.
Step 2: To finish your masterpiece, take the dots and lines produced in step 1 and [10a] [14a] [35a].
Step 3: Now, admire your masterpiece. This work goes by many names, but according to Wikipedia, the most common is a three-word phrase that can be found [45a].
